Arsenal-linked midfielder Breno Bidon has revealed his admiration for Bruno Guimaraes after joining him in Brazil’s senior squad.
The Corinthians player praised the Arsenal midfielder’s mentality and performances, offering a personal insight into a player he has followed closely.
Speaking to CBF media in comments published by Gazeta Esportiva on 28 September, Bidon described Guimaraes as an inspiration.
Breno Bidon Arsenal links gain a personal connection
“He is someone I really look up to,” Bidon said, in translation from Portuguese.
The 21-year-old highlighted Guimaraes’ World Cup performances and the experience he has accumulated since beginning his career in Brazil.
Time together with the national team also gave Bidon a closer view of his approach. He praised his winning mentality and the standard of his football.
ReadArsenal previously covered reported interest in Bidon during the summer.
TEAMtalk’s latest report says Arsenal made contact earlier this year, although no official bid has followed.
Brazil opportunity marks another step for Bidon
Bidon’s first senior call-up follows his involvement in Brazil’s South American Under-20 Championship success in 2025.
He started all nine matches during that tournament and scored once, according to Gazeta Esportiva.
Guimaraes has continued to provide a strong example at senior level, scoring Brazil’s third goal in their 4-2 win over Australia on Tuesday.
Bidon’s comments establish his respect for an Arsenal player, rather than a preference for an Emirates move. Any progress towards a transfer would still require a separate development between the clubs.
