Incoming Arsenal prospect Andria Bartishvili is reportedly expected to extend his loan at Iberia 1999 before moving to north London next summer.
The Sun reports that the 17-year-old’s current spell ends in December, with a further six months increasingly likely. Arsenal are in dialogue with Iberia over the youngster, whose proposed transfer from Kolkheti 1913 is worth £3.9million.
The extension would settle where Bartishvili continues his development before joining the Gunners.
When will Andria Bartishvili join Arsenal?
Read Arsenal’s September report on Bartishvili’s agreement already outlined a summer 2027 arrival, citing Fabrizio Romano.
The latest development therefore concerns the months before that move. Supporters should not interpret the proposed loan extension as a setback to plans for an immediate first-team signing.
Our earlier coverage of Arsenal’s formal approach for Bartishvili also traced the recruitment process before the September agreement.
Continuity could benefit Arsenal’s prospect
From a development perspective, remaining in a familiar environment could offer a sensible bridge to English football.
A settled loan can allow a young player to concentrate on improving rather than adapting to another club for a short period. The value would depend on his playing time and the responsibilities he receives.
Arsenal’s eventual decision over his role in England would be a separate step. For now, the focus is on arranging the next stage before his anticipated summer arrival.
