Arsenal have reportedly been approached over a potential move for Real Madrid defender Trent Alexander-Arnold.
The England international has been linked with a return to the Premier League after seeing his role in Spain come under renewed scrutiny.
According to TEAMtalk, intermediaries have contacted Arsenal and Liverpool over the 27-year-old, while Manchester City and Chelsea have also been sounded out.
However, the same report states Alexander-Arnold is not currently considering leaving Real Madrid in January.
Arsenal linked with Alexander-Arnold
Arsenal’s reported interest is notable because right-back has already emerged as an area to monitor.
Ben White has dealt with another fitness problem this season, while Jurriën Timber has only recently returned after a lengthy absence, as covered in our latest Arsenal injury tracker.
Mikel Arteta has even used Martin Zubimendi at right-back during the opening weeks, with Read Arsenal analysing the new role Zubimendi provided against Ipswich.
TEAMtalk claims Arsenal are among the clubs remaining attentive to Alexander-Arnold’s situation, but there is currently no suggestion that a January move is advanced.
The former Liverpool defender is said to remain focused on succeeding at Real Madrid.
That means Arsenal’s position is best viewed as one to monitor rather than evidence of an imminent transfer.
