Arsenal are reportedly monitoring Brentford forward Kevin Schade alongside Bournemouth’s Eli Junior Kroupi ahead of the January transfer window.
Both Premier League attackers are on the Gunners’ list of potential targets, according to football.london reporting relayed in Sky Sports’ Friday transfer round-up.
There is no suggestion at this stage that Arsenal have made an approach for either player.
However, the emergence of Schade alongside Kroupi offers another indication that Mikel Arteta and Andrea Berta are continuing to assess attacking options before the market reopens.
Kevin Schade Emerges on Arsenal Transfer List
Schade is the fresher name of the two.
The Germany international has established himself as an important attacking option at Brentford and offers the versatility to operate across the forward line.
That profile would make sense for an Arsenal squad which underwent considerable attacking change during the summer.
The Gunners moved on several established forwards while bringing in new options, leaving Berta with decisions to make over where further investment might be required.
Friday’s Sky Sports transfer update specifically names Schade and Kroupi as players on Arsenal’s list ahead of January.
At this stage, that should be treated as monitoring rather than evidence that negotiations are under way.
Eli Junior Kroupi Remains on Arsenal Radar
Kroupi’s inclusion is less surprising.
Arsenal have been linked with the Bournemouth forward for several months, and ReadArsenal previously examined why Kroupi presents Andrea Berta with an important transfer decision.
The French youngster has already demonstrated his ability in the Premier League and remains one of the more highly-rated emerging forwards in England.
Sky Sports also reported in August that Arsenal were considering a potential January move for Kroupi, meaning his appearance on the latest list suggests the interest has not disappeared.
That continuity is significant.
Rather than representing an entirely new target, Kroupi appears to remain part of Arsenal’s longer-term thinking as the club evaluates its attacking options.
