Arsenal agree €65m Gabriel Martinelli sale as Al Hilal move sealed

Arsenal have reached a verbal agreement to sell Gabriel Martinelli to Al Hilal for a package worth more than €65million, with the Brazilian now authorised to travel and complete his move.

Matteo Moretto reports the deal is agreed, including add-ons, with Martinelli set to sign a long-term contract with the Saudi Pro League club.

The 25-year-old is expected to travel within the next 24 hours as one of Arsenal’s biggest summer departures moves towards completion.

Gabriel Martinelli to Al Hilal agreed

Moretto reports that Arsenal and Al Hilal have now reached a verbal agreement worth in excess of €65m including bonuses.

Martinelli has received Arsenal’s permission to travel and complete the remaining formalities before signing his long-term deal.

It represents the decisive breakthrough in negotiations which have continued throughout the final week of the window.

ReadArsenal previously reported that Martinelli was moving towards an Al Hilal medical as the Saudi club attempted to finalise an agreement.

Al Hilal have now secured the breakthrough.

Earlier reporting had already indicated that Martinelli was preparing to head to Saudi Arabia once the remaining formalities were completed, with Arsenal willing to sanction his departure.

Martinelli set for huge Arsenal exit

Martinelli’s departure will bring an end to a seven-year spell in north London.

The Brazilian joined Arsenal from Ituano in 2019 and developed into an important player under Mikel Arteta, scoring more than 60 goals for the club.

His role had changed following Arsenal’s attacking rebuild this summer, with Christos Tzolis arriving to strengthen Arteta’s options on the left.

ReadArsenal previously covered Arsenal and Al Hilal’s earlier agreement over Martinelli before negotiations over the player side of the transfer continued.

The latest agreement now leaves Martinelli’s travel, medical and contractual formalities between him and officially becoming an Al Hilal player.

His exit also comes during a dramatic period of Arsenal transfer activity, with Gabriel Jesus moving towards Barcelona and Fabio Vieira closing in on a permanent Hamburg switch.

For Arsenal, the €65m-plus package represents another major outgoing deal as Andrea Berta reshapes Arteta’s squad before the deadline.
