Arsenal Women player ratings vs Crystal Palace: Baum 8, Russo 6

Arsenal Women were held to a frustrating 0-0 draw by Crystal Palace despite dominating almost every attacking metric at Emirates Stadium.

Renée Slegers’ side had 79 per cent possession and nine shots on target but could not find a way past former Arsenal goalkeeper Pauline Peyraud-Magnin, who made eight saves.

ReadArsenal’s Arsenal Women 0-0 Crystal Palace match report covers the full story from a frustrating afternoon.

Here are our Arsenal player ratings.

Misa Rodríguez — 6.5/10

Had very little to do.

Palace managed only one shot on target, which Misa dealt with comfortably.

Her concentration mattered more than her shot-stopping.

Emily Fox — 7.5/10

One of Arsenal’s most persistent attacking outlets.

Fox regularly pushed high from right-back and got herself into dangerous positions around the Palace box.

She was denied by Peyraud-Magnin in the first half and continued to offer width deep into stoppage time.

Leah Williamson — 7.5/10

Calm and authoritative.

Williamson helped Arsenal sustain pressure by recycling possession quickly and stepping forward when Palace cleared.

ESPN recorded a team-high 10 defensive interventions for the England defender despite Arsenal spending most of the afternoon attacking.

Lotte Wubben-Moy — 7/10

A solid return to the starting side.

Wubben-Moy dealt with the rare moments Palace threatened and made an important intervention from a first-half set-piece.

Little drama, which is exactly what Arsenal wanted from their centre-backs.

Ona Batlle — 7.5/10

Very involved.

Batlle continually moved into attacking positions and helped overload the left side.

She also produced several efforts of her own as Arsenal pinned Palace back after half-time.

Kyra Cooney-Cross — 6.5/10

Neat without being especially decisive.

Cooney-Cross circulated possession well alongside Georgia Stanway but Arsenal needed more attacking presence after an hour.

She was replaced by Stina Blackstenius as Slegers changed shape.

Georgia Stanway — 7.5/10

Controlled huge spells of the game.

Stanway completed 96 accurate passes, more than any other player on the pitch, as Arsenal dominated possession.

She kept Arsenal moving and repeatedly recovered possession quickly enough to prevent Palace escaping.

The missing piece was a decisive final pass or shot.

Mariona Caldentey — 7.5/10

Very unfortunate not to score.

Mariona struck the frame of the goal during Arsenal’s fast start and continued to find pockets between Palace’s midfield and defensive lines.

She also created openings for Russo and helped Arsenal maintain pressure before being replaced by Kim Little.

Lisa Baum — 8/10

Arsenal’s best player.

Baum was the player most consistently willing to attack Palace directly.

She tested Peyraud-Magnin, struck the crossbar after cutting inside and later created a good opportunity for Blackstenius.

After scoring the winner against Brighton last weekend, the 19-year-old has quickly become one of Arsenal’s most dangerous attacking players.

Another performance which should make it difficult for Slegers to leave her out.

Chloe Kelly — 6/10

A quieter afternoon.

Kelly helped create an early opening but struggled to consistently beat Palace’s defensive block afterwards.

She was replaced by Olivia Smith on the hour as Slegers searched for greater penetration.

Alessia Russo — 6/10

This was the frustrating one.

Russo remained heavily involved and found herself in good positions, but Arsenal needed their striker to convert one of them.

She finished with seven shots and three on target, more attempts than any other player in the match.

Peyraud-Magnin denied her several times, while other opportunities went begging.

A strong all-round presence, but the finishing has to drag the rating down.

Stina Blackstenius — 6.5/10

Introduced after an hour to give Arsenal another presence inside the penalty area.

Baum created one good opportunity for Blackstenius, but Peyraud-Magnin again made the save.

Added urgency without finding the breakthrough.

Olivia Smith — 6.5/10

Gave Arsenal a little more direct running after replacing Kelly.

Smith tried her luck from distance late on but could not produce the decisive moment.

Caitlin Foord — 6/10

Replaced Baum with 15 minutes remaining.

Worked into promising positions but struggled to influence the final stages as much as the player she replaced.

Kim Little — 6.5/10

Helped keep Arsenal on the front foot after replacing Mariona.

Little almost found the breakthrough herself in stoppage time, but her effort was blocked.

Frida Maanum — 6/10

Given only the closing minutes after replacing Russo.

Too little time to make a meaningful impact.
