Arsenal could receive a significant transfer windfall after Everton opened talks to sign former Gunners striker Folarin Balogun from Monaco.
The 25-year-old left north London permanently in 2023, but Arsenal protected themselves by inserting a 17.5 per cent sell-on clause into the deal.
With Monaco valuing Balogun at around £43million, that clause could potentially be worth more than £7.5m if he leaves for a similar fee.
Arsenal stand to profit from Folarin Balogun transfer
The Guardian reports that Everton are in talks with Monaco over Balogun, with David Moyes looking for another striker before the window closes.
Everton’s interest has also been confirmed by Sky Sports.
Arsenal sold Balogun to Monaco for around £34m three years ago.
The Standard confirms the Gunners retained a 17.5 per cent clause on any future transfer, with Monaco previously setting an asking price around £43m.
That could hand Arsenal another timely injection of cash during an already dramatic end to the transfer window.
