Forgotten Arsenal defender Carl Jenkinson has surprisingly been included in the Gunners’ squad for their Europa League encounter with Sporting, according to a report on the Evening Standard.
Unai Emery’s side face Sporting in Portugal and Jenkinson was spotted travelling with the squad.

The full-back has not played for Arsenal since November 2016 and has been plagued with injuries in recent years.
Jenkinson’s loan move to Championship side Birmingham City was halted by a shoulder problem and has permission to leave Arsenal in the summer. However, the 26-year-old could not find a club to join and ended up staying with the Gunners.
Arsenal are quite short on defensive players at the moment with Sead Kolasinac and Nacho Monreal both injured, which means that Jenkinson has been selected in the squad.
This should be Arsenal’s toughest test in the competition yet, with Sporting level on top of the group with the Gunners on six points each.
