Santi Cazorla’s injury problems have been well documented, but the Spaniard is getting closer to a return to fitness and says that he is aiming to play again before the season ends.
The 33-year-old hasn’t played since October 2016 but he’s already begun light training as he looks to improve his fitness.
Cazorla injured his ankle 18 months ago and had numerous setbacks as he looked to get fit again. There was concern that he could even have lost his foot after he got a bad infection post-surgery.
As reported by Goal, the Spaniard has his sights set on making an appearance this season, before Arsene Wenger leaves the club, but he is being careful not to rush things as the last thing he needs is another setback.
He admitted that his body is still in some pain as he looks to get himself ready to play again, but that won’t stop him pushing to feature before the season ends.
