England have confirmed that Jack Wilshere will sit out Tuesday’s friendly with Italy.
The midfielder missed the 1-0 win over the Netherlands on Saturday after suffering an injury in training whilst with the national side.
In a statement, the FA said “Jack Wilshere will not return to the England camp ahead of Tuesday night’s fixture against Italy at Wembley. The Arsenal midfielder didn’t travel to Amsterdam as a precaution and will remain with his club.”

This is just another stumbling block for Wilshere, with the midfielder’s career being littered with injury problems.
Arsenal and England will be hoping that the injury is not too severe. Wilshere has become a key part of Gareth Southgate’s England setup, whilst the midfielder has made a welcome return to the Arsenal ranks this season.
England take on Italy at Wembley on Tuesday as they continue their preparations for the World Cup this Summer in Russia.
