St Etienne nearing Debuchy signing

French side St Etienne are close to completing a deal to bring Arsenal defender Matheiu Debuchy to the club.

The French club have identified the Frenchman as a target for some time and are keen to get the player whilst the Gunners are happy to get him off their books.

He has had very limited game time so far this season, featuring just seven times with none of those coming in the league, which highlights the need for him to move on and find another club.

When the club signed Debuchy from Newcastle, he was one of the most talked about full-backs in the league but he has been unlucky with injuries which has meant he hasn’t been able to dislodge regular right-back Hector Bellerin, who has performed well in recent seasons.
