Premier League side Arsenal have been watching German youngster Maximilian Philipp for some time and the Borussia Dortmund star has been given high praise by ex-Bayern Munich chief Matthias Sammer, according to a report on the Daily Cannon.
The 23-year-old has had a very impressive start to the season with Borussia Dortmund and has managed to get his name on the scoresheet four times so far in the German Bundesliga this season.

Sammer said: “He plays very, very creatively. He is intelligent and cautious. He is also very easy on his feet. This all works very nicely, is wonderful to look at.”
“But what I have noticed for some time, that he is very disciplined, is integrated into the system. These are clean characters that are very, very important to a team,” he continued.
Dortmund signed Philipp in June and the youngster has made a flying start to his career at the club.
He signed a long-term contract which expires in 2022, so Arsenal will be expecting a tough battle if they want to sign him anytime soon.
Philipp has been compared to fellow team-mate Marco Reds, due to his direct style and pace.
Philipp has also registered one assist during his flying start to the campaign.
