Mesut Ozil already being offered to foreign clubs

Arsenal playmaker Mesut Ozil has been offered to Serie A giants Inter Milan, with the German set to see out his contract until the end of the season and then move on a free transfer, according to a report on CalcioMercato.

Ozil’s contract expires at the end of the current campaign and Arsenal have been in talks with the player for some time over extending the deal, but have not yet agreed any terms.

Arsenal boss Arsene Wenger has played down the fact that his star players could leave for free and is confident that Ozil will sign a new long-term contract at the North London club.

Intermediaries close to Ozil have apparently offered him to Inter and whilst the Serie A are interested in Ozil, his incredibly high wage demands have resulted in the club holding back for the moment, with the German demanding over €7m a year.

Inter don’t have the spending power to match Ozil’s wages and this could prove to be a hindrance in any transfer negotiations.

Inter have been looking for a top quality attacking midfielder for some time and have had Ozil on their radar. Thet will hope that the German will be ready to lower his wage demands to ensure a move to the San Siro in the summer transfer window.
