The German International had a short spell on the sidelines which meant he was absent for Arsenal’s victory over FC Koln in the UEFA Europa League and the draw at Stamford Bridge against London rivals Chelsea.
The 28-year-old midfielder had played every minute of Arsenal’s Premier League campaign this season before picking up his injury, but is expected to return for the Gunners’ showdown with West Bromwich Albion at the Emirates on Monday.
The German will not play any part in Arsenal’s Carabao Cup clash with Doncaster and will work on regaining match fitness for the remainder of the week.

The Gunners had feared that Ozil could have a serious problem with his knee, but manager Arsene Wenger as well as fans will breathe a huge sigh of relief as Ozil makes a quick recovery.
The North London club are still trying to get Ozil to sign a new contract at the club as his current deal expires next summer and should Ozil have a brilliant World Cup, then it will be difficult for the Gunners to keep hold of him.
