L’Equipe state that Arsenal are back in the hunt for highly-rated Nice midfielder Jean Seri, with the French club willing to let the player go for a fee of €40m, according to a report by Sport Witness.
The 25-year-old central midfielder had an excellent season in the French Ligue 1 last season. He made 34 appearances and managed to get his name on the scoresheet seven times and also registered nine assists.

His balance between attack and defence has caught the eye of Arsenal boss Arsene Wenger who is looking for a box-to-box midfielder and it seems that Seri is the perfect man.
Italian Serie A club AS Roma were interested in Seri but his €40m price tag led them to drop their interest and pursue other targets.
It is expected that Arsenal will attempt to negotiate a lower price with Nice as Wenger looks to strengthen his squad to challenge for the Premier League this season.

The Ivory Coast international is said to be open to a move to the Premier League as Nice wait for a club to trigger his release clause, which is unlikely.
Wenger is hoping that Nice will get desperate for the money and will let him go for lower than his valuation and if the French club refuse to do so, then Wenger will pursue other targets like Leon Goretzka.
