Arsenal have backed themselves into a corner in regards to the future of star forward Alex Sanchez.
The Chilean, off the back of his best season for the Gunners, holds all the aces as he has just one year left on his contract at the Emirates and is showing no intent towards signing an extension.
£50m-rated Sanchez, according to the Times, is determined to force through a transfer to Bayern Munich this summer.
The Gunners have tried to persuade Sanchez to stay by offering him a bumper new deal worth £280,000-a-week but the attacker is worried about the club’s competitiveness in the Premier League, especially after they failed to qualify for the Champions League for the first time in Arsene Wenger’s illustrious reign as manager.
Juventus, Paris Saint-Germain, Chelsea and Manchester City have all made their interest known in Sanchez but he’s eager to complete a move to the Bundesliga champions after falling out with Wenger and a number of his Arsenal team-mates.
Despite Arsenal’s willingness to keep their most prized asset, there seems to be no swaying Sanchez in his decision making and as we’ve seen in the cases of Cesc Fabregas and Robin van Persie, the player usually gets their way.
