Whether Alexis Sanchez remains at Arsenal beyond the summer remains to be seen but if he were to leave it would be in the club’s best interest not to send him to a Premier League rival.
Both Chelsea and Manchester City have been heavily linked with a move for the forward should he leave Arsenal.
Chilean news outlet Radio Cooperativa report that Sanchez has already decided that this will be his final season with Arsenal and that he will leave the club at the end of the season.
With his contract up in the summer of 2018, Arsenal may be forced to cash-in on the former Barcelona man if he refuses to agree to new terms.
City are willing to meet his £50m price-tag and offer him a bumper new £200,000-a-week contract to make the move north.
The report claims that Sanchez is eager to link up with Pep Guardiola and Claudio Bravo again at Manchester City.
