Aston Villa want to take Arsenal defender on loan

According to the Birmingham Mail, Steve Bruce is hoping to strike a deal with Arsenal to sign Carl Jenkinson on loan.

Bruce wants the 24-year-old right back to join Villa in January so that he can help with their promotion push.

The young Arsenal defender should be open to such a move as he is desperately trying to kick-start his career after having suffered a serious knee injury at the beginning of the year while on loan at West Ham.

Arsene Wenger recently admitted that he’s not picking Jenkinson as he feels that the player is lacking confidence, so a loan move away could be a great way for him to get game time.

Villa have had issues at right back and have been playing Alan Hutton in the role. Whilst the Scottish international has done a solid job so far, it looks like Bruce is still keen for an upgrade and that he thinks Jenkinson is the man to help him.
