Arsenal have announced the signing of Shkodran Mustafi from Valencia.
The German World Cup-winning centre-back has been linked with a move to North London for a number of weeks after his international teammate Per Mertesacker was ruled out with an injury and the deal has finally been completed.
The 24-year-old becomes the Gunners’ sixth signing of the summer following the arrivals of Lucas Perez, Granit Xhaka, Rob Holding, Takuma Asano and Kelechi Nwakali and will join up with the squad once he returns from international duty with Germany.
There is no new yet as to what length of contract he has signed and Arsenal haven’t released the transfer fee either, but it is believed to be in the region of £35million.
Mustafi will be available to make his Arsenal debut when Southampton visit the Emirates on September 10th, provided he comes back fit and well from representing Germany this weekend.
