Arsene Wenger’s decision not to bring back Thierry Henry as coach of the Arsenal under-18s, has apparently alienated another Arsenal legend, Tony Adams.

According to an article in today’s Telegraph, the former Arsenal captain left the Gunners’ under-18’s (where he was in the midst of a trial period for the job) and accepted a lucrative offer by Chongqing Liana to become their head of youth development.
Earlier this month Andries Jonker, the head of Arsenal’s academy, wanted to bring Henry back as an assistant coach with the under-18s as part of his efforts to get his UEFA pro license, even offering to work for free.

But Jonker was overruled by Wenger, seeing Henry’s commentating position at Sky TV as possible conflict of interest, offered the position to Adams.
Now Henry is left to look for another club or federation to continue his work towards gaining his UEFA license and Adams is off to the Far East.
Whether or not Adams’ decision to leave the club and the way Henry’s situation was handled by Wenger is just a coincidence remains to be seen and begs the question:

What are Arsenal supporters supposed to feel when two men, who are so ingrained in recent Arsenal glory (their statues in front of the Emirates speak for themselves), leave the club within weeks of one another?
