Arsenal are said to be angry with Manchester City following reports that City wanted to sign Spanish full-back Hector Bellerin.

According to David Anderson of The Mirror, Arsenal feel that City’s reported interest has unsettled Bellerin and that feeling has led to the stalling of contract extension talks between the player and the club.

Anderson says that Arsenal went as far as to contact Man City to tell them that the player was not for sale, but they believe the damage has been done.

Bellerin was excellent last season and Arsenal wanted to reward him with a new contract, and they thought they were close to agreeing a five-year extension, but talks have broken down and the Gunners seemingly feel that the links to Man City are part of the reason for this.

City seem to be in the market for a new right-back as their current options, Bacary Sagna and Pablo Zabaleta, are now in their 30’s.
