Arsenal midfielder Isaac Hayden is a transfer target for Newcastle United, according to a report from Uche Amako of The Express.
The 21-year-old spent last season on loan with Hull City and although he can also play as a centre-back, he was used predominantly as a defensive midfielder as Steve Bruce’s side gained promotion via the playoffs.
Hayden has made just two appearances for the Arsenal first-team and it would not be a surprise if he is allowed to leave in the summer for a number of reasons.

Firstly, he is unlikely to get close to getting regular football at Arsenal and a move is probably best for his career. Secondly, Arsenal would be happy to get a bit more money in the transfer pot and thirdly, his contract runs out at the end of next season and it makes no sense for Arsenal to let his deal run down.
Newcastle manager Rafa Benitez is in sole control of his club’s transfers and he has apparently identified Hayden as a man who could help him get the Magpies promoted at the first time of asking.
