While Gunners fans anxiously wait for Jamie Vardy to make his mind up at the end of Euro 2016, they have been buoyed by Arsene Wenger’s willingness to spend this summer.
And while most of the attention has been spent on addressing the need for a top-flight striker and bolstering the midfield, the news that Mathieu Debuchy plans on leaving the Emirates may force Wenger to reconsider his strategy.

According to reports, the 30-year old French international plans on making his exit from Arsenal permanent, citing that he lacks the full support of the Arsenal boss.
Back in 2014, the former Newcastle United defender joined the Gunners on a five-year-deal as a replacement for Bacary Sagna.
Debuchy’s time at Arsenal, however has been plagued by injury and misfortune. While he was out, his place on the squad became tenuous and was ultimately lost due to the performances of Hector Ballerin, which led him to be loaned out to Bordeaux in January.

Unfortunately for Debuchy, he suffered another injury with his new club, which ended any hopes he had of representing France in Euro 2016.
If Debuchy should leave, Wenger may be forced to sign defensive reinforcement, especially since it is widely believed that Calum Chambers will be sent out on loan.
