Arsenal make enquiry about Yannick Carrasco's availability

Arsenal have made an enquiry to Atletico Madrid regarding the availability of winger Yannick Carrasco, according to journalist Emanuele Giulianelli.

Carrasco, who scored in the Champions Leauge final after coming on as a substitute. only moved to Atleti in 2015 for €20million, so for them to sell him at that price does seem a little unrealistic.

The 22-year-old, who was one of the 23 men selected by Marc Wilmots to represent Belgium at Euro 2016, scored five goals in 43 appearances for Atleti last season and he had a further five assists.

According to Giulianelli, the Spanish side have already lined up a replacement should Carrasco be sold. He says that they’d look to Antonio Candreva, who is apparently unsettled at Lazio.

The arrival of Carrasco, should he move to the Emirates, would add more pace and directness to an Arsenal side that was lacking such qualities due the inconsistency of Theo Walcott last season.
