Alexis Sanchez frustrated with Arsenal situation

Arsenal’s disappointing season could be about to become even worse. It has been reported by Matt Law of the Daily Telegraph, that Alexis Sanchez is frustrated with the current situation at the Emirates, and could be in doubt to sign a contract extension.

Having signed from Barcelona in 2014 for £35 million, the winger has been a revelation for Arsenal. Sanchez was arguably Arsenal’s best player last year, scoring 25 goals in all competitions. After winning the Copa America with Chile last summer, however, the forward has suffered a dip in form, only scoring 12 goals and gaining four assists this year, as per Squawka.

Sanhcez’s frustration came to a head last week after being substituted in Arsenal’s win over Norwich. Sanchez quickly walked down the tunnel ignoring Wenger and not joining the bench. Sanchez, who has clashed with Wenger over the amount of his playing time before, is also in the midst of contract negotiations. He currently has two years remaining on his contract, but Arsenal could face a battle to sign him to an extension.

It has also been rumoured, that due to these contract talks, both Bayern Munich and Manchester City are interested in the Chilean international. Although Arsenal have had a poor season, it would be unlikely that Arsenal would sell him this summer.
