After months of speculation, it appears that Arsenal have missed out on long-term target, Ben Chilwell.
The talented left-back, has been tracked by Arsenal for some time now. Although Chilwell originally started this season at his parent club – Leicester City – he also spent a few months on-loan at Huddersfield, but returned to Leicester City in January.
Claudio Ranieri had promised the young player game time upon his return, and although he played the full 90 minutes in both Leicester’s FA Cup games, Chilwell has not featured in Ranieri’s starting lineup in the Premier League.

The 19-year-old defender had been offered a new contract by Leicester, but according to Melissa Reddy of goal.com, the promising youngster has chosen Liverpool as his preferred destination.
Chilwell won the ‘Academy Player of the Year’ last season, and has since been tracked by multiple clubs, with Arsenal reportedly, failing with two bids in January for the Leicester prospect.

Reportedly on £800 a week, and entering the final year of his contract, it seems Liverpool have snared the highly rated prospect, with a deal anticipated around £8 million.
If the reports are true, this is a big loss for a player Arsenal had earmarked as the long-term replacement for Nacho Monreal.
