Arsenal to battle it out for the next ‘Jamie Vardy’

Jamie Vardy’s rise to the top of English football, has been astounding. Having signed for Leicester from non-League Fleetwood Town, for a record £1 million fee, Vardy has gone on to become one of the top goalscorers in the League.

Vardy rose up through the ranks via the non-League, playing for teams such Stocksbridge Park Steels, Halifax Town, and lastly Fleetwood Town. Due to his rise through the non-League, and not through the academies, clubs are now paying more attention to non-League football.

One player who has recently caught the attention while playing in non-League football, is Lewes winger, Charlie Coppola.

As reported by the Express, the 16-year-old striker- who can also play on the wing- had a trial with Leicester City this month, but has also attracted interest from Arsenal, Manchester United, and Chelsea.

The left footed youngster progressed through the club’s Development Squad and has impressed his manager, Darren Freeman.

Charlie is a very good player with a great future ahead of him. There are a few clubs who are interested in him. He is just one of a number of good young players we have here.

The striker has already been likened to Jamie Vardy, and if he does move to the Premier League, he could well replicate Vardy’s success.
