Arsenal to bid for Croatian midfielder

Arsenal are coming to the end of what has been a bitterly disappointing season. Having lead the League at the turn of the year, Arsenal have suffered a dramatic fall from grace.

A key contributor to Arsenal’s woes has been the lack of midfielder presence. Although Mohamed Elneny has impressed over the last few weeks, Arsenal lacked the steel of Francis Coquelin, and the creativity of Santi Cazorla for multiple games this season.

Moreover, with the imminent departures of Mikel Arteta and Matthieu Flamini, and the constant injury troubles of Jack Wilshere, Arsenal are reported to be after another central midfielder to fill that void. One of the players in question, is Inter Milan midfielder, Marcelo Brozovic.

Brozovic, who is in the final year, of his two-year loan from Dinamo Zagreb, had a relatively average first-half of the season. Since the turn of the year, however, the Croatian International has become one of the better players in Mancini’s team.

Capable of playing as a deep-lying playmaker, or further up the pitch, the 23 year-old has been earmarked by Wenger as a potential signing in the summer.

The deal might be good business for both parties as Wenger will need to add to his midfield, while the allure of the Premier League is tempting for any player.
