A great man once said “Welbz is dat guy,” and that phrase rang true in Sunday’s lunchtime match where Arsenal hosted Leicester City in a battle between two clubs competing for the top spot in the Premier League.
Late in the first half, Martin Atkinson called an arbitrary penalty in favour of the visitors, who capitalised off that thanks to Jamie Vardy’s well-placed spot-kick. It was followed by a controversial sending off for the Foxes’ Danny Simpson, and Arsenal came back after that to take all three points in a crucial 2-1 victory that proved their mental and physical steel.
