In a surprise move, Arsenal right-back Mathieu Debuchy will reportedly be loaned out to Ligue 1 side Bordeaux.

The Frenchman has previously been linked with a move to Manchester City, Aston Villa and Sunderland.
Ironically during Debuchy’s debut season with Arsenal, it was his injury against Manchester City that September which has set the tone for the remainder of his time at the Emirates.
He would go on to make only 12 league appearances for the Gunners and since the loan agreement does not appear to have an option to take the player on permanently, he could yet return to the north London club, although it’s likely a permanent move away will occur in the summer.

The move makes sense for Debuchy because prior to his move to England, the defender had spent his whole career in France with Lille, making more than 300 appearances with the first team.
