On Monday afternoon, AKA Deadline Day, it was reported by the Express that Arsenal are interested in signing 16-year old Chilean international Marcelo Allende, who is being called the next Alexis.
Although he has a lot left to prove in order to live up to that billing, Allende is currently the captain of Chile’s under-17 team and rose up Cobreloa’s youth ranks, which is where Alexis Sanchez began his career.

Adding fuel to the speculation of Arsenal’s potential signing, Allende’s manager, Christian Ogalde, told AS Chile that he has a ‘relationship’ with the Gunners.

There’s no question the decision to sign Allende would be a no-brainer and could turn out to be a major coup for Arsene Wenger, having already seen Alexis’ impact on the club since his arrival.
