Spanish playmaker Santi Cazorla has insisted that Vincent Del Bosque is the right man to lead Spain at next summer’s European Championships, after the current champions confirmed their place in France with a comprehensive 4-0 victory over Luxembourg.
The 30-year-old scored twice in Friday’s game against Luxembourg and has heaped praise on Del Bosque, confirming the squad’s confidence in the 64-year-old, who has been the brains of Spain’s late 00s/early 10s dominance – winning two consecutive European Championships and a World Cup.
We’re all very happy with Del Bosque and he has the confidence of the entire squad.
You have to credit what we’ve done. We’ve had a tough road. In a match, anyone can get the better of you. That Slovakia defeat was a tough day, but we knew we had to stick together and stay calm and that’s what we’ve done.

However, the Arsenal midfield star insisted that they had learnt from mistakes that they made in Brazil last summer, suggesting that the tournament was ‘forgotten now’.
Brazil is forgotten now. We have to learn from our mistakes.
We’ve got a new generation and we’re thinking about the future.
Spain face Ukraine in their final European qualifier on Monday and have a friendly with England lined up in November – the start of their preparations for Euro 2016.
