Arsenal defeated Ligue 1 runners up Lyon today by a whopping six goals to nil, as a number of the stars from the North London side impressed.
The days proceedings were opened by an Olivier Giroud header just before the half hour mark, with Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain adding another just four minutes later, a well taken goal after brilliant play from both Aaron Ramsey and Giroud, who bagged himself a good assist with the outside of his boot.
It took Arsenal roughly a minute to get the third, with Alex Iwobi firing into the top corner, an unstoppable finish from the 19-year-old, who really impressed throughout. Arsenal’s fourth came five minutes before half time, with Aaron Ramsey getting his boot on the end of Mesut Ozil’s well timed pass, making it 4-0 to the Gunners going in to the break.
It took Arsenal until the 62nd minute to get a fifth, with the goal coming through Mesut Ozil before Santi Cazorla’s free-kick with his weaker foot wrapped up proceedings; overall, a very, very strong showing once again in pre-season.
