Arsenal are reportedly considering selling Alexis Sanchez to Real Madrid in the New Year rather than lose him to Manchester City for free.
The Chilean’s contract expires at the end of the season and he is free to hold talks with any foreign clubs in January ahead of a free transfer. However, he did have an interest in joining City last summer and he could decide to wait until the end of the current campaign before agreeing any move in order to possibly secure a switch to Manchester.
Real Madrid are having, by their standards, a poor season and signing Sanchez could be a huge boost to them.
Arsenal need to decide whether they are happy to let the 28-year-old leave for free or if they’d rather cash in and ensure that he is sold to a team in another division.
Both choices come with pros and cons, and of course, the player himself would still need to agree to a transfer, so it’ll be interesting to see how it all plays out in January.
