Liverpool have made a club-record bid to Monaco for Arsenal target Thomas Lemar, according to reports in France.

The Reds have apparently offered the reigning Ligue 1 champions €72million + €8m in add ons for the 21-year-old.

Monaco have already rejected three offers from the Gunners for the French international, the highest being around €50m, and are apparently keen to keep him at the club.

In fact, Arsene Wenger recently stated that Monaco were refusing to sell him and reports stated that the Gunners were looking to go back him for him next year.

Liverpool are hoping that Monaco will accept the bid today so that they can get Lemar’s medical completed before he joins up with the French national squad.

France manager Didier Deschamps has a strict policy of not allowing any players to leave his training camps for transfer reasons and with them due to meet up this evening, Liverpool will want to get this deal sorted as soon as possible.

As it stands, the Reds are yet to hear Monaco’s response for the bid and will reportedly be making a call to their Vice President Vadim Vasilyev to speed things up.

Arsenal will be hoping that Monaco stand firm or they’ll be embarrassed by Liverpool for the second time in 24 hours after they took a hammering at Anfield on Sunday afternoon.
