The verdict is out: Arsenal supporters would prioritise the FA Cup over the UEFA Champions League.
Read Arsenal ran a poll on Thursday evening via Twitter to ask supporters if they would rather the club fielded a stronger side on Sunday afternoon at the Emirates Stadium against Watford in the FA Cup quarter final, as opposed to resting them ahead of the midweek tie against Barcelona.
The defending European champions already have a 2-0 lead to take into the home tie, having defeated the Gunners at the Emirates thanks to two goals from none other than Lionel Messi.
Out of close to 500 voters, a whopping 83% said that they would prefer the north London side to field a full strength side on Sunday, with the hope of winning their third FA Cup in as many seasons a clear priority.
While the Gunners’ chances to advance into the next round of the Champions League appear bleak at best, they do boast the opportunity to win both the Premier League and England’s biggest cup competition.
