Egyptian midfielder Mohamed Elneny has completed a medical with Arsenal and will sign for the club in the next few days, according to John Cross of the Mirror.
The Gunners have reportedly agreed a fee of around £5million with Basel for the sale of the 23-year-old, who is likely to be the only addition to the Arsenal squad in January, unless the chance to sign an exceptional player presents itself.

Elneny will have to be granted a work permit in order to complete the move, but that shouldn’t be an issue as he is a regular starter for both club and country.
Although he is coming into the club in January, it’s unlikely that the Egyptian will feature much up to the end of the current campaign. With Mikel Arteta, Mathieu Flamini and Tomas Rosicky all set to exit the club in the summer, it will likely be next season before Elneny gets the chance to stake a claim for a regular place in Arsene Wenger’s side.
