Arsenal are interested in signing Borussia Monchengladbach’s defensive midfielder Havard Nordtveit, according to reports.
The 25-year-old is out of contract in the summer, and even though Monchengladbach are keen to get him tied down to a new deal, he can start talking to other clubs in January ahead of a possible move at the end of the year.
If he does express a desire to leave, or at least not to sign a new deal, the German side could well look to cash in rather than lose him for free.

Gunners fans may well recognise Nordtveit’s name as he had a spell at the club from 2007-2011, but never quite managed to make a competitive appearance in the first team.
Arsenal received £800,000 when they sold him to Monchengladbach in 2011, and the player has developed with the first team action he’s seen in Germany.
He is now a full international for Norway, and has added a slight goal threat to his game; scoring three Bundesliga goals this year.
