Although Huddersfield Town sit near the bottom end of the table, one of their players is fast attracting the attention of the top clubs in the country. On-loan full-back Ben Chilwell was watched by a host of Premier League clubs during their 2-0 win over Rotherham as per the Yorkshire Post– notably Arsenal, Tottenham Hotspur and Newcastle United.
The defender, on loan from Leicester City, has received rave reviews, so much so that he was named Leicester’s ‘Academy Player of the Year’ last season. Still under 20, Chilwell is relishing his chance to play senior first team football.
Just playing men’s football is the main thing for me, I am playing in the Championship week-in and week-out, where the winning mentality is everything. Playing against grown men is everything I need to improve my game. Occasionally, I feel like a boy playing in a man’s world. You go into 50-50s and you do realise a man is a lot more physical than you, but it is all good as I need to improve my physical side.

At his parent club, Chilwell is thought of very highly and is scheduled to return to Leicester in the new year, with the possibility of contending for a place in Claudio Ranieri’s first team squad. He made his debut for Leicester in the Capital One Cup against Hull City and was essential to the club’s academy squad last season.
Internationally, Chilwell has progressed well, captaining the England under-20s and was recently called into Gareth Southgate’s under-21 squad.

Everything at England is technical which is the same as it is here, getting on the ball and always playing the ball on the pitch. That helps a lot.
A modern day full-back, Chillwell has plenty of energy to get up and down the flanks, a skill that will increase the interest of bigger clubs in his talent.
I feel I am getting a lot fitter here.
I am getting up and down the line and I am enjoying myself.
