Arsenal and England forward Theo Walcott has hailed the impact that goalkeeper Petr Cech has had on the side.
The 33-year-old equalled the Premier League record for clean sheets as the Gunners claimed a 2-0 win at Aston Villa, a result which sent them to the top of the table.
Cech has now equalled the 169 clean sheets kept by David James, who played in the top flight for Liverpool, Aston Villa, West Ham, Manchester City and Portsmouth, and speaking after the win, Walcott paid tribute to the Czech international.
From when we signed him, we all knew how good he was [after] what he achieved at Chelsea. On a personal level, for him it’s great.

Theo also spoke about the difference that the former Chelsea man has made since arriving in the summer, and he couldn’t speak highly enough of his team’s new goalkeeper.
He’s changed us completely in that back four. He’s a talker, he believes in us all. That’s why he wanted to join us and having with that presence behind you is always nice to have. He’s very commanding, he’s a leader in the dressing room as well, he always likes to talk.
After a small blip at the end of November, the Gunners have won three consecutive games in all competitions, a run that has seen them qualify for the last 16 of the UEFA Champions League and go to the top of the Premier League.
