Torreira unlikely to make Napoli move

Arsenal midfielder Lucas Torreira has been strongly linked with a move to Italian side Napoli in recent weeks.

The Uruguay international’s future has been in question for a few weeks, with reports claiming that he could be set to make a January move to the Serie A side.

However, Italian journalist Alfredo Pedulla has revealed that he is not likely to move from Arsenal, labelling his stance as ‘untransferrable’.

The 23-year-old started for the Gunners during the 1-1 draw against Bournemouth in Mikel Arteta’s first match in charge of the club on Boxing Day.

Torreira could be a key player for Arsenal for many years to come and letting him leave could be costly.

Arteta seems to be a fan of Torreira and the new management could help put the midfielder at ease, rather than looking elsewhere.

This is great news for the Gunners heading into the January transfer window.
