City’s Argentinan superstar striker got the Cityzens off to a perfect start, shrugging off a feeble Shkodran Mustafi to get his side off the mark, dinking the ball over the out-rushing David Ospina.
Kompany doubled City’s lead early in the second half, after Kevin De Bruyne played a low ball from a corner to Ilkay Gundogan, whose low driven shot was diverted goal-bound and poked home by the City captain.
David Silva wrapped the game up shortly afterwards, sharply turning Calum Chambers to slot home after smart intricate play from Danilo allowed the Brazilian to set Silva free.
