Arsenal’s January signing Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang has said that he was in constant talks with his fellow new arrival Henrikh Mkhitaryan about their respective transfers to Arsenal before they both had been finalised, according to the Evening Standard.
Aubameyang completed his club-record move to the Emirates on deadline day for £56 million, joining his former Borussia Dortmund team-mate Mkhitaryan at the North London club after he was involved with a swap deal with Alexis Sanchez.
The two players created a special relationship in their time at Dortmund which made them, at the time, one of the best teams to watch in European football.

This partnership was something that both players were keen to resume once more with Arsenal targeting both players at the start of the window.
The Gabon international spoke about how strong the bond is between the two upon his arrival at the club.
It’s like [being reunited with] a brother, a good friend. We play together in the past and I’m really happy to see him again. He called me a few times, he asked ‘will you come or not?’ I said ‘first you have to tell me if you sign or not’.
He told me all was done and of course it was a big factor in coming here.
He went onto speak about their bond both on and off the pitch saying.
We understand each other on and off the pitch, that’s why it’s easier on the pitch. [The fans] have to be happy [to see us together], we will do our best of course, like we did in the past.
