Ivan Gazidis believes Arsenal are most consistent big club

Arsenal chief executive Ivan Gazidis believes that the north London club are the most consistently “over-acheiveing” big club over the past few years, according to a report on the Telegraph.

Gazidis was speaking at the annual general meeting and revealed that he believed that the club did need to improve, however he was defensive over the club’s current transfer policy.

Gazidis pointed out that the Gunners have three FA Cup titles in four years and that the progress of the club in the Premier League is proven statistically to be getting better.

He said:

No club has a perfect record every year under this scrutiny but Arsenal has probably been, of the big clubs certainly, the most consistently over-performing team over time.

Gazidis then went on to discuss how the club are investing their money off the field, with £40m going in to help improve the training ground facilities at the club.

He also revealed that the Gunners are helping to create more jobs and have doubled the off-field football staff since 2013.

Gazidis also stood to the defence of the Arsenal board members and owners, especially Stan Kroenke, who has come under heavy criticism by fans for only focusing on making money rather than helping the side in footballing terms.
