Arsenal close to signing Feyenoord man

Arsenal are reportedly close to signing young striker Joshua Zirkzee from Feyenoord, according to a report covered by Sport Witness.

The 16-year-old prospect is said to have failed to reach an agreement with Dutch giants Ajax, so now is on the verge of completing a move to North London.

Feyenoord had reportedly offered Zirkzee a place in their U19 squad for next season, but the youngster rejected the proposal. This has further fuelled speculation that he will be on the move this summer, and with Ajax failing in their attempt to lure Zirkzee from their fierce rivals, Arsenal seems to be the likely destination.

Since his arrival at Feyenoord from ADO Den Haag last year, Zirkzee scored 33 goals in 27 appearances for various academy sides at the Dutch club, earning a place in the Netherlands U16 national team.

With some reports saying PSV Eindhoven are also interested in the hotshot, others are saying that Manchester United are keeping tabs on the situation, and could hijack Arsenal’s bid for the youngster.

But for now, it would appear that Arsenal are close to signing a very talented player, with a big future ahead of him.
