Arsenal, fresh from a pasting in Munich, travelled to a much different environment to face Sutton United in the FA Cup.
Arsene Wenger picked a pretty strong team with the likes of Shkodran Mustafi, Nacho Monreal, Granit Xhaka and Theo Walcott in the starting line-up.
After a pretty even 25 minutes, Arsenal took the lead when Lucas Perez broke down the right. His curling low call in was mixed by Theo Walcott but found its way into the net.
The Gunners had a few half-chances but couldn’t capitalise and they got a bit lucky to go in at half-time in front after David Ospina’s terrible pass fell straight to Adam May, but he fluffed his lines when a goal looked certain.
The Gunners looked much better after the break and went 2-0 up thanks to Theo Walcott’s 100th Arsenal goal when he converted at the back post.
Sutton then fought back and had a few good chances, including a shot from 25 yards that hit the crossbar.
Arsenal had chances to increase the lead but failed to do so and ended up taking the 2-0 victory.
