Arsenal have been linked with a vast number of players over the years, from stars like Napoli’s Gonzalo Higuain to Manchester City’s Yaya Toure, even Barcelona’s Luis Suarez – well, it was Liverpool’s Suarez at the time.
Plenty of players got away, but the north London side still possess its own bunch of talents. Mesut Ozil, Alexis Sanchez, Aaron Ramsey, Petr Cech and Laurent Koscielny to name a handful, Arsene Wenger is still capable of persuading the best players in world football to make the move to Arsenal.
The ability to get into the UEFA Champions League is something that the Frenchman almost guarantees, year in year out for the last 18 years, Arsenal have achieved European greatness – something not many teams in the world have been able to offer.
Arsenal don’t just get to the competition however, they often get to the knockout stages but have found it hard to get beyond the last 16 stage in the last half decade.
If the Gunners could bring in players from each of the teams in the last 16* of this season’s competition, who would they be and why?
*Obviously not including Arsenal themselves*
