Italian would welcome a move to Arsenal

Juventus’ Daniele Rugani is one of the most promising young defenders in Europe. Throughout the summer, the Italian U21 international was linked with a move to the Premier League, with Arsenal reportedly making an offer of €18million for the player.

Online publication Sport Witness are reporting that the Gunners did indeed make “strong enquiries” about signing Rugani.

They also report that they’ve spoken exclusively to a source close to the player, who says that Rugani would welcome a move to the Gunners if given the chance.

Of course, if Arsenal or other important English clubs want to buy him with the right offer, the player will be more than happy to move.

He has the skill, physique and perfect attitude for the Premier League and will be very happy to play in the United Kingdom for top English teams.

Rugani was originally co-owned by both Juventus and Empoli. He spent the last two season’s playing for the latter, although in February this year, Juventus paid Empoli a fee in order to own the player’s rights exclusively.

If Arsenal do wish to sign Rugani, they may face stiff competition from Napoli. The Italian side’s attempted to sign him in the summer were unsuccessful, despite making a €25million bid for him.
