A section of Arsenal fans have called for the club to move for RB Salzburg striker Erling Braut Haaland should club captain Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang leave the Emirates.

Haaland has been in prolific form this season, scoring 22 goals in 16 games to date, which has resulted in interest from numerous European heavyweights.

Meanwhile, Aubameyang has also found the back of the net with ease for the Gunners, and his impressive form has also led to rumours of a move away.

Recent reports from Spain have suggested that Aubameyang has called off contract talks with the Gunners as he wants to make a move to Barcelona.

So, with the star striker’s future up in the air, Arsenal fan page @LTArsenal asked their followers who they’d like to replace the 30-year-old should he leave.

Suggestions for Granit Xhaka, Lucas Torreria and Alexandre Lacazette’s possible replacements were also asked, but it was Haaland’s name that came up from plenty of supporters.

It’s easy to see why so many fans want the club to secure the 19-year-old’s services.

His ruthless goalscoring ability has rightly made him one of the hottest prospects in Europe, and he’d be a brilliant replacement for Aubameyang, should he leave for Spain.

Many supporters will be hoping the club captain remains in north London, but with rumours intensifying by the day, the Gunners may need to make contingency plans.
