Arsenal fans are desperate for the club to make a January move for Atletico Madrid midfielder Thomas Partey following the latest twist in Granit Xhaka’s Gunners career.
Unai Emery confirmed on Tuesday evening in his pre-Vitoria press conference that the Swiss star has been stripped of the captaincy at the Emirates.
Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang has now taken over as skipper, with Xhaka’s permanent future with the club in serious doubt.
So, with Xhaka being tipped with a move away in the new year, @WorldwideAFC quickly took to social media to urge the club to move for Partey in the new year.

The post went down well with these Arsenal fans, who were seemingly keen on a deal, with some even urging the club to consider a swap deal.

It looks as if Xhaka may well end his three-year association with the Gunners in the coming months, and his potential departure won’t leave too many fans disappointed.
A swap deal involving Xhaka and Partey looks extremely unlikely, but if the Gunners can somehow bring the Atletico star to the Emirates, it would be an excellent piece of business.
He’s been compared to former Arsenal midfielder Patrick Vieira, a player the Gunners have failed to really replace since his north London exit in 2005.
It remains to be seen if Arsenal are willing to firm up their reported interest in Partey, who has a £43.5 million release clause, but if they do, it looks as if it would go down extremely well with the fans.
